Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026. Applies to Uplink, published by Dotted Sun Technologies LLC.

Summary

Uplink connects an iPhone to a computer on the same local network. The app does not require an account, does not include a telemetry or analytics service, and does not collect or transmit personal data to Dotted Sun Technologies or any third party.

What the app does

The app reads on-screen stick, gimbal, and switch input from the phone and sends it directly to the companion app running on a computer chosen by the user, over that local network connection. That input is used to control a simulator on the paired computer. It is not stored by Dotted Sun Technologies and is not sent anywhere other than the paired computer.

Local network access

iOS will prompt for permission to find and connect to devices on the local network. Uplink uses that permission only to discover and connect to the companion app on the user's own computer. Nothing observed during that discovery process is sent to Dotted Sun Technologies.

Accounts and data collection

There is no account or sign-in. There is no telemetry or analytics service integrated into the app today, and no personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted to Dotted Sun Technologies. If that changes — for example, if a telemetry or analytics feature is added in a future version — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the update will describe what is collected and why.

Children's privacy

Uplink is not directed at children, and the app does not collect personal data from any user, regardless of age.

Changes

This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date before they take effect.
