Privacy Policy

Summary

Uplink connects an iPhone to a computer on your own local network, or over a USB cable. The app does not require an account, does not include an analytics or crash-reporting service, and does not collect or transmit personal data to Dotted Sun Technologies or any third party.

What the app does

The app reads on-screen stick, gimbal, and switch input from the phone and sends it straight to Uplink Companion on a computer you choose, over your local network or a USB cable. That input is used to control a simulator on the paired computer. It is not stored by Dotted Sun Technologies and is not sent anywhere other than the paired computer.

The companion on your computer keeps only what pairing needs — which phones you have trusted — on that computer.

Camera

The app asks for camera access only to scan the pairing QR code your computer shows. Nothing from the camera is stored, and no image leaves the phone.

Local network access

iOS will prompt for permission to find and connect to devices on the local network. Uplink uses that permission only to discover and connect to the companion on your own computer. Nothing observed during that discovery process is sent to Dotted Sun Technologies.

Accounts and data collection

There is no account or sign-in. The app has no analytics and no crash reporting built into it today. No personal data is collected, stored, or sent to Dotted Sun Technologies. If that changes — for example, if an analytics or crash-reporting feature is added in a future version — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the update will describe what is collected and why.

Children's privacy

Uplink is not directed at children, and the app does not collect personal data from any user, regardless of age.

Changes

This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date before they take effect.
